Terms of service

Effective date: July 10, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Quincena ("the Service," "we," "us"), a paycheck-based budgeting application operated in the United States. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.

What Quincena is (and is not)

Quincena is a planning tool. You enter your pay schedule, income, and expenses, and it does arithmetic: leftovers, payday routing, bill coverage, and debt payoff estimates. It does not connect to your bank, move money, or execute transactions of any kind.

Quincena does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Calculations such as debt-free dates and projections are estimates based entirely on the numbers you enter and simplified assumptions (for example, fixed interest rates and consistent payments). They are for planning and motivation, not guarantees. For advice about your situation, consult a qualified professional.

Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
  • Sign-in links are sent to your email; keeping access to that email account secure is your responsibility.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the numbers you enter. Never enter full account numbers or credentials — the Service is designed to work without them and our forms reject them.

Free tier and Pro subscription

  • The core budgeting features are free: budget editing, payday routing, bill coverage, bonus-check alerts, and CSV export.
  • Pro adds debt-free dates, payday reminders, and multi-year projections, for $4.99 per month or $39 per year (plus any applicable tax).
  • Billing is handled by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled.
  • You can cancel anytime from Settings → Manage subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep Pro access until then. We do not prorate or refund partial periods except where required by law.
  • If a renewal payment fails, we may pause Pro features until payment succeeds. Your data is never deleted for a failed payment.
  • Prices may change; we will notify you by email at least 14 days before a change affects your subscription.

Your data

Your budget belongs to you. You can export it as CSV or delete your account at any time; deletion permanently removes your data as described in our privacy policy. We claim no ownership of the information you enter, and we use it only to operate the Service.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law with the Service or use it to harm others;
  • probe, overload, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' data;
  • resell or scrape the Service;
  • reverse the sign-in of, or impersonate, another person.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Quincena available and reliable, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We may add, change, or remove features; if we materially reduce what Pro includes, existing subscribers will be notified and may cancel.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quincena and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for financial decisions made based on the Service's calculations. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose (or $50 if you paid nothing). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Franklin County, Ohio, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and notify you by email or an in-app notice. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
