Privacy policy
Effective date: July 10, 2026
Quincena ("the Service," "we," "us") is a budgeting application operated in the United States. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how we protect it.
The short version
- We never ask for, accept, or store bank logins, full account numbers, card numbers, or routing numbers. Quincena is a manual budgeting tool: you type in nicknames and the last four digits of your accounts, and that is all we ever have.
- We do not sell your information to anyone.
- You can export your budget as a CSV or delete your account — and all of its data — at any time from Settings.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address, used to sign you in (we use passwordless magic links) and to send the emails you ask for.
- Budget data you enter: pay schedule, income amounts, expense names and amounts, account nicknames and last-four digits, debt balances and interest rates. We store this so your budget is there when you come back.
- Subscription status: if you upgrade to Pro, our payment processor (Stripe) tells us your subscription is active. We store that status and a Stripe customer reference. We never see or store your card number.
- Technical basics: cookies strictly required to keep you signed in, and standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) kept for security and debugging.
What we do not collect
- No bank or brokerage credentials, ever. There is no bank sync.
- No full account, card, or routing numbers — our forms reject them.
- No Social Security numbers.
- No advertising trackers or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use your information
- To provide the Service: store and display your budget.
- To sign you in and keep your session secure.
- To process Pro subscriptions and send receipts.
- To send payday reminder emails — only if you turn them on, and every one includes an unsubscribe link.
- To respond when you contact support.
- To detect abuse and keep the Service running.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run Quincena, and only what they need to do their job:
- Supabase — database and authentication hosting (your account and budget data).
- Stripe— payment processing and subscription billing (your email and payment details, handled under Stripe's own privacy policy).
- Resend — transactional email delivery (your email address and the content of emails we send you).
- Vercel — application hosting (server logs).
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Quincena or others. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Security
Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access is controlled with row-level security, meaning your budget is readable only by your authenticated account. Sign-in uses one-time email links instead of passwords, so there is no Quincena password to steal. No system is perfectly secure, but we deliberately minimize what we hold — the most sensitive thing Quincena stores is a nickname and four digits.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. Deleting your account in Settings permanently removes your profile and budget from our database. Payment records held by Stripe are retained as required for tax and accounting law. Backups age out on a rolling schedule.
Your choices
- Export your budget as CSV at any time.
- Turn payday reminders on or off at any time.
- Delete your account at any time.
- Contact us to ask what we hold about you or to request correction or deletion.
Children
Quincena is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and notify you by email or an in-app notice before the changes take effect.
